I am writing to express my unreserved support for Chris Rothfuss for Wyoming Senate District 9. Two years ago when Chris and I both ran for United States Senate, I had the pleasure of getting to know Chris as a person and as a politician. I can say that I have rarely met a more intelligent and dedicated public servant. After serving in the U.S. Department of State as a science adviser and diplomat, Chris could have chosen to make a career for himself working inside the Beltway, but he instead chose to return to his Wyoming roots to put his knowledge and expertise to work for the people of Wyoming. Chris Rothfuss truly cares about Wyoming and its people.
Wyoming's economy is built on the energy industry. Chris' background as a chemical engineer and science adviser make him uniquely qualified to help guide Wyoming's economy through these difficult times. Wyoming deserves political leadership from experts who truly understand the intricacies of the energy industry rather than the empty rhetoric we are used to from so many politicians. Chris Rothfuss is that leader.
Further, the Chris Rothfuss I know is a good husband and father. He's a contributing member of his local community as a professor at the University of Wyoming. He's a considerate and thoughtful person who has the strength of character to fight for his constituency in Cheyenne. It was my pleasure and my honor to get to know Chris Rothfuss. I hope that in the days and weeks ahead the people of Wyoming Senate District 9 will get to know Chris Rothfuss, because the more they learn about him the more they will grow to respect and admire him, just as I have. Chris Rothfuss is the right person for the job and I am happy to endorse his candidacy for State Senate.
